ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – The Mehlville and Lindbergh school districts enacted security measures after a convicted sex offender escaped from Mercy South Hospital Thursday morning.At the recommendation of the St. Louis County Police Department, the Mehlville School District placed its schools into what’s known as a secure action—all doors were locked and students remained in campus buildings.Schools in the Lindbergh district, like Kennerly Elementary, which is located across the street from Mercy South, were placed on lockout. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - A man is in the hospital Thursday morning after authorities say he got into a gunfight with St. Louis County police, who were responding to a domestic disturbance call involving the man.The entire incident unfolded just off Gravois, right by Rambler Drive. According to the most recent information from the county police, the suspect's condition is critical but stable.This all started just before 7:15 p.m. St. Louis County Police Sgt. Tracy Panus told FOX 2 that two county police officers responded to a domestic disturbance call on Rambler.Panus explained that the officers were told before they arrived that an adult male suspect was intoxicated and was refusing to allow the person who called police to leave the home. ALBANY — A shooting at a business Thursday prompted a huge police response and closed part of Interstate 80, authorities said.It was not known immediately if anybody was shot or whether police fired their weapons.Officers were called to the 1000 block of the Eastshore Hwy, near Buchanan Street, about 11:15 a.m., authorities said. ALBANY, Calif. (KRON) -- A suspect involved in a shooting at a Toyota Service Center was shot by responding Berkeley Police Department officers Thursday morning, police say.At 11:14 a.m., Berkeley police responded to a shooting at the Toyota Service Center in Albany, the department said. Officers on scene located a victim as well as a suspect. After locating the suspect, gunfire occurred between the suspect and Berkeley police, according to authorities.Berkeley PD requested assistance from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office after the shooting.There is an internal investigation underway to determine if the officer followed department protocol in the shooting, Berkeley police officials said.Police are asking the public to avoid the area.
